My first mashup

i want i need

i want i need

Check out my first attempt at a a Yahoo Pipes mashup, its called ‘i want i need’ and is a collaboration with the awesomely skilled Tyler Alberti.  The mashup searches twitter for tweets about what people are saying they need and contrasts it with what people think they want.  An interesting social commentary…?

Roberta Zeta

Whilst wandering through the Design You Trust site I came across the awesomely cool drawings of Roberta Zeta.  The way Zeta creates texture and the almost ‘cut and paste’ feel is striking.   Check out her Disco Graphics folio.

Helvetica love

Helvetica Wood type

During a day long procrastination from a Processing assignment I stumbled upon a list of drool worthy Helvetica posters compiled at Dezin Tech. Inspirational and awe inspiring…the design world’s love for this type face never ceases to amaze me.

Rebecca Bennett

While doing some research into chiaroscuro for a photography tute I came across this series of amazing oil paintings by texan artist Rebecca Bennett.  I love the contrast of the murky backgrounds with the vibrant hues in the foregrounds.

Beau Grealy

Currently I am inspired by this Sydney born/New York residing photographer: Beau Grealy.  He started out assisting the likes of Steven Klein and Alasdair McLellan and has contributed to i-D, Interview, American Vogue, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, Kenneth Cole {the list is crazy long}. I favour his personal works over the more professional stuff.  Grealy is very talented at capturing the uniqueness of everyday moments.

darling buds of May

A beautiful piece by the talented Sonja Ahlers, whose eclectic installations and sweet knitted bunny rabbits have recently captured my more whimsical side.
